What would Jesus Do. Remember the bracelets from the 90’s? If only we were all following that
motto. The digital age is desensitizing
us all, especially our impressionable kids.
It’s easy for us to delve deeper and deeper into this digital world (X-box,
Facebook, Snapchat, Insta-gram) that crosses the line on so many levels. Even cuss words that 20 years ago weren’t
even allowed on TV are now common occurrences.
It used to be that no alcohol could be sold on Sunday, now, it’ just
like any other day.
Our morals seem to be lost somewhere along the way, what
can be done to get them back? If you aren’t sure where to start, try reading a daily
devotional each morning, or going to church, reading the bible or volunteering
in some capacity. Do anything you can to
balance out the myriad of immoral moments we are hit with every day. Then invite your kids along to join you. Church, the word of God and face to face time
with family and friends, free from screens and consequence-free communication
WILL have a positive effect on you.
Pray about it, you will figure out the right course of
action, but remember - your kids will be
leaving the house one day and we want them to recognize how to have balance in
their lives and make decisions on where to draw the line when it comes to the
morality of life.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help me recognize
when I am leaning too far away from You and show me how to stay close to You.
Scripture
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8
